About Course

Part C of the CWI course focuses exclusively on the interpretation and application of API 1104, 22nd Edition – Welding of Pipelines and Related Facilities, preparing candidates for the Code Book Exam portion of the AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.

This section trains students to navigate the API 1104 code efficiently and accurately under exam conditions. Through timed exercises, real-world inspection scenarios, and targeted drills, participants will gain the skills to locate, interpret, and apply code provisions relating to procedure qualification, welder qualification, inspection requirements, and acceptance criteria.

Module 1: Introduction and Scope of API 1104

Module 2: Welding Procedure Qualification
This section dives into one of the most critical roles of a CWI: verifying that the welding procedures meet the standard's requirements

Module 3: Welder Qualification
Once the procedure is qualified, you must ensure the welders are qualified to perform the work. This module covers the requirements for welder qualification

Module 4: Production Welding, Inspection, and Testing
This module focuses on the day-to-day responsibilities of a CWI on a pipeline project, covering joint preparation, inspection, and testing of production welds.

Module 5: Acceptance Standards for NDT
This is arguably the most important module for the CWI Part C exam. You will be tested heavily on your ability to interpret weld discontinuities on radiographs and apply the correct acceptance criteria.

Module 6: Repair and Removal of Weld Defects
When a weld is rejected, it must be repaired. This module covers the procedures and qualifications required for weld repairs.

Module 7: Special Topics and Annexes
This final module covers specialized topics within API 1104, including mechanized welding and in-service welding, which are often covered on the exam.

Final Mock Exam
Final Mock Exam will be timed at 2 hrs. just like the real exam it will choose 60 questions at random every time you take it. Practice it as many times as needed after each test make sure to review and look for the answers in the book.
