Whether you’re aiming to pass the AWS CWI exam or enhance your knowledge of welding codes and inspection practices, our courses are built with one goal: Your Success!
The AWS CWI certification is a globally recognized credential that demonstrates an individual’s knowledge and skill in welding inspection. It’s a professional certification for those who oversee and ensure the quality of welding work.
The prerequisites are based on a combination of your education and work experience. The American Welding Society (AWS) has specific requirements you must meet. Generally, a high school diploma and at least five years of welding-related experience are needed. We recommend checking the official AWS QC1 Standard for specific details. For information about the requirements go to our Information/Eligibility section.
Our prep courses are designed for anyone preparing to take the AWS CWI exam, including experienced welders, welding supervisors, quality control personnel, and engineers. The course will help you review the required body of knowledge and improve your test-taking skills.
Our courses cover all three parts of the AWS CWI exam:
Part A: Fundamentals (Welding Processes, Metallurgy, Nondestructive Examination).
Part B: Practical Application (using welding tools and inspection instruments).
Part C: Code Application (using a specified welding code, typically AWS D1.1).
We offer both. Our online courses provide flexibility, allowing you to study at your own pace. Our in-person 2-week seminar offer hands-on training and direct interaction with instructors, online pre-prep courses are included with the in-person seminar. The dates available for in-person are yet to be released.
The duration varies depending on the format. Our self-paced online course allows you to study as much as you want for a 6-month period (extensions available), while our intensive in-person seminar runs for two weeks.
You can register directly on our website by selecting your desired course and filling out the registration form. You’ll receive a confirmation email with all the necessary details.
